Artisan
[ ] United Kingdom The now British based producer Roland Green (Artisan and Harper & Green) has been making quite a name for himself within the worldwide dance music scene of late. After only four short years in the studio, having previously enjoyed regular slots as a Club and Radio DJ, the subsequent transition into writing and producing his own music was inevitable. In that time he has already notched up a string of releases, initially as one half of production duo Harper & Green, along with Oliver Harper (Claus Von Klunk – Baroque Records, Pure Substance Records) and more recently under the pseudonym Artisan.
Back in 2006, Harper & Green's debut EP 'In a Lifetime' was supported by, among others, Hernan Cattaneo, Anthony Pappa and Nick Warren, who on his tour of Asia opened all of his sets with the title track 'Lifetime'. This also went onto to feature on compilation CD 'Globalize Volume 2' sold in shops and online. Subsequent releases such as 'Harper & Green - Lost' and remixes such as Add2Basket – Volaris, came thick and fast, with regular support from DJ's Hernan Catteneo, Nick Warren, Quivver, Anthony Pappa, Simon & Shaker, Flash Brothers, Cevin Fisher, Ricky Ryan, Matt Rowan and Jaytech.
2009 is set to be a great year for Roland Green, as he now embarks on his solo career under the alias Artisan and focuses on his own brand of contemporary big room Club House. With tracks already signed to Lowbit Records LA and Pure Substance Records Worldwide, Roland now keeps company with the likes of Bastards of Funk & Sonic Union, Shiloh, Chris Micali, Daniel Maher and Thomas Penton to name a few. This new platform gives Roland the opportunity to explore his musical roots and write contemporary tracks that incorporate the melodic yet tough side of electronic music that he loves so much. Following his own style on his own terms is very important to Roland and is a philosophy that has stood many great artists in good stead before him.
