PSD011 : Moonbeam feat Amigo - Back To The Future (Original Mix, Dub Mix, Tony Estrada Remix, Nukes Scratch Build Dub Mix &  Edel Vibrate Mix)

Release Date: 31st August 2006
Format: Digital Download

One of Russia's best production export to date, Moonbeam quartet returns to deliver the goods on this outing along with vocalist Amigo. Their works has already gained play support from the likes of Deep Dish, Hernan Cattaneo, Anthony Pappa, Sultan, Mashtronic, Djinxx and the likes, Moonbeam shows on this release that they have no plans in taking the back seat after their previous successes.

'Back To The Future' is a strong yet eclectic EP consisting of an Original Mix & a Electro Dub that is targeted to have cross over appeal from tech-house to electro styled DJs. Additional remixes from Tony Estrada, the rising pool of talent from Asia, 'Nukes' and 'Edel' only strengthens further the cross over appeal of this release.

Original kicks in tight with some seriously twisted sounding synths before Amigo’s 80’s pop sounding vocal weave in & out over a warp bass line & a cheeky hook. Interesting efx & bleeps is included to give it an electro edge. Electro Dub get straight into action gearing towards a more tech house meets electro affair. Shuffling up the kick drums to get it more groovy while retaining most of the original parts except for the vocals.

Tony Estrada takes you into the deeper end with its dark smokey vox & infectious hook. Crisp shuffling hi-hats, percussions & a great funky bassline keeps it groovy, New Orlean’s style. Nukes Mix gears towards minimal with sick arrangement. Bleeps, Glitches & the burst of weird synth stabs make this mix the most left of center and experimental among our lot. Edel Mix builds seamlessly into the main break gearing towards a more tribally edge. Hypnotic like vox layers over a huge kick drum, crispy shuffling hi-hats & a great low-end synth. This is aimed straight for the big dark rooms…

BP Zulauf, Switzerland - Lovin the Original. Moonbeam are getting so good its getting scary. Classic Moonbeam melodies but with more focus on mood & groove. Def one of their best outings here. The other big find is Edel, what a wicked interpretation here of the Original track. This one stands out the most of the other remixes by a mile. I am a fan.

Jason Pinto, Ohm Records, Dubai  - Totally diggin the Edel Vibrate Mix. Mos def going to try in the club next week.
