PSR006 : V-Sag & Andrew K - Fossil

A: Original Mix    B: Kosmas Epsilon Remix
Release Date:  6th February 2006

Pure Substance Records have joined the Mixturi camp. Their opening record under Mixturi comes in the form of V-Sag & Andrew K. Deep synth laden progressive is the order of the day. Laden with a kinky little guitar riff, this one is for the sexier progressive generation. Kosmas spices up the original in typical fashion. Immediately he adds a purpose to the track. The track is stripped of the majority of the original elements and given a new sense of clarity and drive. A nice pack to continue the good vein of form that has brought Pure Substance of delivering good quality progressive.

Feedback So Far:

Hernan Cattaneo - excellent remix, wish i could fit it into my renaissance compilation.

C-Jay (Holland / www.thesessions.nl) - Both of the mixes are damn good. The original i would play in the early hours, but the kosmas epsilon one i would play when the room is on fire.. Excellent work on both versions: nice deep beats and warm pads and melodies. More please!

Alex McCulloch (Shafunkers) - Excellent Kosmas remix. Floating but driving, some excellent elements. Will support - thanks for sending.

Red & Blue (Adjust Recordings) - Deffo prefer the remix, nice electronic groove!! Will deffo play this one.

Hardy Heller  - very very strong...definately will play these ones as well a lot in my radio show as well as during my live gigs. keep up your very good work. Charted in January 2006.

Oleg, Pavel, Vitaliy (MOONBEAM) - We love Kosmas Epsilon Remix! Crystal Clear Arpeggios It's Very Groovy!!! Really Liking This!

Perry O'Neil - Really loving both mixes, but the Kosmas Epsilon mix hits the sweetspot!

Alicam - I like the Kosmas remix better, will give support on our radio shows. FG soundsystem on fg93.7 (turkey's biggest dance music station) and on frisky radio.

Eelke Kleijn - The original is slightly too melodic for me to play. The remix by Kosmas however is a nice piece of work, like the techy vibe in it!

James Harcourt - A: Nice drums & percussion but not keen on the progressive washing pads but track structure is good for the genre . B: Very, very sweet production can hear this getting big plays. Very full & one for all the big boys but not quite my bag I think.

Tony Estrada - Great melody and solid release!

Yves Eaux -  Nice sexy one! Prefer the original mix. Will play for sure

Nick Galea - Great tracks both mixes played the Kosmas Epsilon Mix last night @ Gate Crasher & as they say reach for the lasers safe as fuck ;) well done!!

Clubbervision - Awesome release. This is some of the best stuff we have received in November. The original is really cool, but I dont like the main riff so much... too acoustic sound for my personal taste. My fav mix is the Kosmas Epsilon one... he has done again a really kick-ass work! Its just crazy techy-proggy remix Clubbervision will burn the coming weeks for sure! Sureplay record!

Filterheadz - Kosmas Epsilon remix is the one for us. Love the shuffled beats and pulsating bassline ! Top Tune!

Fred Numf - Original for me. Strong drive nice melody.....In my box!

Stu Hirst (Harlem / Limbo / Subversive / Level /Plastic Fantastic / Fantastic House / Viva) - Both mixes are wicked, love the bassline. Will definitely be playing and charting !

Luke Walker (Underwater Records, Gung Ho! Records) - Kosmas mix is the one for me - he's on fire at the moment.

Andy Jarrod (3 Beat Label Mgmt) - I love your remix of fossil mate, i played it out a lot.

Paul Sidoli (Excession Mgmt, Hearing Aid Records) Already have it from summer, very nice remix of yours!! thx mate"

Jerry Bonham - both mixes are aces and in the bag for NYE ! thanks as always for the tunes !

Blueman Kau (BK Studio, Resident @ Room 18, Taipei) - This track is brilliant, I like Andrew K’s productions a lot, deep progressive.

Frederik Borgeseous (Pako & Frederik) - Kosmas Epsilon works for me (not into the guitars of the orig).

Stian Klo - kosmas remix all the way - very cool !!

Thomas Nastos (Freeze Magazine Greece,Fiberlineaudio.com) - Long awaited release from Pure Substance. Beautiful Progressive house from V-Sag & Andrew K with great melody and a quality more techy remix from Kosmas Epsilon. One of his first works of course but still quality as most of his tracks. Peak time! Will review it on next issue of the magazine for sure! 9/10

Flash Brothers - We like very much the first mix with the guitar - will play it this weekend in Jerusalem's HAOMAN 17 club : Dj mag top 100 party of Ours with 1300 people coming..

Guillaume Galaxie FM - Really diggin the original mix. Melody with smooth guitar is amazing. I love this mix. Vasilis and Andrew's cooperation is a success ! The remix of Kosmas Epsilon is great too but too much electro for me. But I will play it sometimes. Thanks for this great stuff ! 8/10

Hans Temmerman, Rotationz.BE - Like both mixes! The original mix from those 2 Greek quality-music dudes creates a deep 'afterhour' atmosphere. Kosmas does a great job by putting his perpetual energy in it! 8/10

Moshic - original for me! cool and cute melody! thanx! 7/10

Piliavin & Zimbardo Review for IDJ - Another top track from fast up and coming label, Pure Substance based down in the sunny climates of Malaysia. Andrew K is a name we’ve heard before, and here he teams up with V-Sag to give us a great pair of mixes for their track Fossil. Now while the Original mix is cool, the Kosmas Epsilon Remix is really where it’s at on this EP if you like your tunes like we do. A quality EP that deserves your attention. 4/5

Shiloh - Very very nice. Love the gorgeous original and Kosmas’ remix is pure class.

Subsky - Kosmas mix is really cool..but original is not for me..thanks 7/10

Brian Cody (Resident Advisor / Update Magazine) - Masssssive tune alert!!! Kosmas is the genius too.
Here's a massive release from this growing label,a double assault from Greece in the shape of Fossil from V-Sag & Andrew K.Also on the line-up is a remix from one of the shining stars of this year Kosmas Epsilon. The original mix is hot off the blocks with a weighty dose of breathy pads over darkened beats that come together at the beginning, setting the mood and gradually opening up as a heavy melody creeps in.The beat drops out as fresh, gritty chords begin to pulsate and slowly filter back down, developing and winding up as it began. The Kosmas Epsilon mix is just how you expect. His productions have a habit of standing out and this re-take is no different, taking the essence of the original and churning out a highly charged mix of techy percussive elements and blossoming pads that's packed full of emotion. This is a must have record. 9/10

Niki B - Good for big party 7/10

Andy Moor - Great track, will be supporting ! thanks - 9/10

Nicholas Bennison, Big Shot Magazine (US) -
both mixes solid, but going for the more full on Epsilon mix. great builder with lots of energy. thanks!

Farid - Beautiful track... simply beautiful melody. I can picture DT playing it in late morning! 9 /10

Oliver Moldan / Prawler - Charted for January 2006

Chris Sterio - Strong melody driven progressive house/trance - Kosmas E mix best for clubs with its rugged drive and energy.
