Kevin O Keeffe
Kevin O'Keeffe was born in Mauritius of Anglo-Irish ancestry. Early years were spent in Botswana and Mauritius. By the age of 16 he had already developed skills in mixing music and started to mix for friends parties. At the age of 17 he left Mauritius to live in London where he spent two years working and mixing in small clubs and pubs. A move to France followed where he continued to mix in clubs and bars in Bordeaux and surrounding areas. Kevin returned to Mauritius in 2005 and started to make his name on the local scene. He was much in demand in the new clubs as his particular style and music taste grew in popularity. Kevin has played alongside with many international DJs such as David Guetta, Djulz, Funkagenda, Moshic, Viktoria Rebeka and Fafa Monteco. His main influences have been Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and Sasha.
In recent years Kevin has been producing his own music and staying true to his various styles of deep dark progressive, minimal tech and ambient sounds. Some of his tracks have been picked up by other DJs and have appeared on various international DJ charts. Kevin's productions have attracted much attention, which has lead to recording contracts with a number of labels including 'Pure Substance', 'Balkan Connection' and 'Homage'. His music is available in his own name and also as Mutecells on 'Beatport' the world renowned music download site. This has lead to a regular radio show on Beatunes called 'Cold Case' where International artists are featured such as Pako and Frederik, Psyk, Miss Sunshine and many others.
